Got it Back!

Okay, so it's not a huge secret that I like to play slots. And, a new casino was built nearby a year ago, so 'bout once a month or so I go down there and play somewhere between fifty and a hundred bucks, depending on how much "stupid tax" I'm willing to part with.

R and I got up this morning and decided that we'd head down to the casino before the place got busy. At least we figured it wouldn't be busy, since high numbers of folks still go to church around here. Or, they're hung over because of the local college football game the day before.

Anyway, we've never gone down there on Sunday morning; it's not a bad time to go. The casino is not crowded and there is little or no smoke smell, which I appreciate a whole lot!

I decided fifty would be my stupid tax today. Didn't start out very well; in fact, I dropped most of it in about the first half hour. I wasn't amused in the least. But, as weird as it may sound, I was listening to the music that was playing on the PA system and the specific song I'd been thinking of digging out and playing for a few days came on. (The song was Elton John's Circle of Life from The Lion King, btw.) And, I just...relaxed.

I began winning. Not all that much - I play penny slots, after all. But, I ended up winning $149. So ending up $100 bucks up wasn't too bad! R ended up breaking even, basically - he took $40 to spend and ended up with $41. LOL! Hey, a profit is a profit!

So, my afternoon consists of a meeting to begin preparations for LammasFest 2008. Thanks to AD, I've got information I've sorely needed for the last five years which will take a huge worry off my mind. Thanks, AD!

And, this is a very special day, too. Today is grandson Luke's 5th birthday!!! It's hard to believe that he's already 5 and ready to go to kindergarten next year. What a blessing he was - Lyn found out she was pregnant with him the day my mother died. I'm not sure I'd have been good for much without knowing that another precious soul was on the way to help heal the loss of the one I'd just lost. And then Milana as my "birthday present" two years later? I'm so very fortunate!

Luke's birthday party is not until Tuesday. I guess I've been delegated to go help Lyn put together his choice of birthday cake. He wants a Sponge Bob cake. Do you think I'll be sick of yellow frosting by the time I'm done?

Yes, I know I've not said anything about Kirk and Marsha's wedding yet. I'm still waiting to include some pictures. I may stop over at Lyn's after my meeting and see if she has any good ones. I think it will be a little longer before the formal wedding pictures are back.

I'll be checking back later! Hope everyone has a great Sunday!
