I've been only half in the loop the last two days. I woke up around 2:00 a.m. Tuesday with one of the worst migraines I've ever had. I couldn't even begin to isolate where the pain was - all I knew was that removing my head from the rest of me seemed like an excellent idea! Sadly, guillotines are not readily available around here, so I just had to muddle through with massive amounts of ibuprofen and ice packs. I went from TV, to computer, to bed, and then repeated the whole sequence time and again. The pain ebbed and flowed throughout the day, and I finally gave up and went back to bed at 8:30 last night, only to find myself in dire pain once again around 10:30 p.m. I walked the floor till midnight, then tried sleeping again, but got up around 3 to call into work.
And what did my eyes behold when I looked outside? Snow...lots and lots of it. As soon as the weather front(s) moved through late this afternoon, the headache began to ease up. I don't want to be a barometer - not if it means headaches like that when major storms move through!
I didn't even dare to do much in the way of shoveling the stuff. It was wet snow, and heavy. Official reports say we only got about 4 inches, but the official measuring site is about 20 miles away. It is closer to 6 inches of new snow in my back yard. Poor Libby was in past her belly when she went out to heed Nature's call. And, of course she looked at me like it was all my doing!
Losing two days to a migraine is not a good plan just a few days before Christmas. But, we'll make it though - we've had years when we didn't even get to shop until Christmas Eve!
And the countdown begins shortly....

Awww Kate I've been wondering how you were faring with the damn migraine.....I was hoping to see you online. Aren't they a bugger? And yes, after 30 some odd years of the horrible things, I finally realized that barometric pressure changes play havoc with my head, too!
I have to say..... I get them a LOT less since the hormones have been leaving my body, and when I DO get them, they're not as evil as they used to be... at least they don't make me blind or vomit like in the old hormonal days, OY VEY.
I'm glad it's getting better and you're feeling more yourself again. Hopefully your barometer of a head won't feel anything now through Christmas huh? :(
Hope you get to feeling better SOON!!
Jess had migraines - she was on meds for 'em (and several other things as well, none of which have helped her personality in a good way, I don't think...)
*HUGS* Wish there were something I could do to help!
