Tidbit Updates

Just a couple of references back from old postings.

Remember the guy I spoke of who got busted on the child porn charges? Apparently his trial has been delayed till sometime in January. But, they announced that they found over 1000 pictures and videos of child porn on his computer. And, again, I have to opine that he's got something to do with the death of his fiance's little girl last July. It's just *too* close for comfort, y'know?

And, I finally remembered to ask the Muslim women about burkas and hajib. I haven't gotten to chador yet.

But, to define them out, (websites give conflicting information, btw) a burka is a head and face covering. This is the one you see where nothing is visible but the eyes. This can be just a simple covering, like a scarf and a facial covering, or it can be a complicated garment which begins at the top of the head and covers them bodily. Depends on where in the extreme they are.

But, hajib is simply what they call the modest dressing. It's like, at home they are not in hajib, but when they go out, they are. Taken to an extreme thought, it's as simple as being a nudist at home, and dressing to go out in public.

And, I found out the girls love to answer questions about their religion. They want understanding between the cultures as badly as many of us do. So, if you come up with any questions, I'm glad to ask them!

And, by next week, I hope to have my Samhain thoughts pulled together and documented. Dawn and I are ready to go onto the next turn of the Wheel. I'll let you know about that then. Damn, I wish I had word processing software. My life will be far easier when I get that put together again. It's just not working to do my writing and email everything to myself. Argh. Add me to the spoiled rotten writers list. LOL
