Weekend Ahead!

Yay! It's my weekend off...and boy, am I happy about it! I only hope that I can get as much accomplished as I want. Means, though, that I'd probably better go to bed early tonight so I can get up and *go* tomorrow.

Believe it or not, one of the things I have to do is go to Orion's favorite store, *winks* Best Buy, and look for a new mouse for this infernal machine. But before I do that, I'm going to buy a new mousepad. Part of the reason that I haven't been blogging and commenting on others blogs lately is due to the fact that my poor little mouse's single cajone just isn't up to snuff any more. It doesn't want to grab the mousepad and roll smoothly. I tried flipping the pad over to the rough side and it helped to some degree, but is still driving me absolutely crazy. Therefore, it's time to replace either the pad or the ball.

Upon reflection, that last sentence didn't sound very good, did it?

I'll change subjects now...*grin*

Sock class went pretty well Thursday night. It's amazing how a little instruction can make things so much clearer. I've almost gotten the first sock to the point the instructor wants us to be at before class next week. The heel is turned and I'm just about done with the foot. She wants us to have everything but the toe completed, and we'll finish them in class. So, I'll probably have a good chance to get the second sock pretty close to the same place and have a pair of pretty socks by the end of next week. Then it will be time to begin making socks for my girls for Christmas.

Next week is granddaughter Isabelle's 18th birthday. Sunday we are having her last birthday "party". And, in honor of her leaving her childhood behind, she is having a Winnie-the-Pooh party. The cake, plates, and napkins will all feature Winnie. Of course, I'll be giving her an Eeyore - might as well start the next generation of women off with her own Eeyore. I think to carry on the theme a bit further, I'll stop by Barnes and Noble tomorrow and get her the book, The Tao of Pooh. And, of course she'll get a wee bit of money from Grandpa and Grandma. Should be a fun afternoon.

I finally broke down and purchased some more storage shelving for my office. I'm sick and tired of the piles o' stuff that cover the floor in this room. It makes me somewhat anxious to be in here sometimes, and my office has usually been what I consider my refuge from the world. I want to start writing more - those books need to get finished at some point! - but some days I look around at the clutter and let myself feel guilt for it all, then I absolutely don't write at all. So, I've got to play with boards and power tools tomorrow. I hope it's an easy assemble.

I think I'll go knit a few more rows, then it's off to bed. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Torch's request for my email was answered.

Thanks, Trace! I'm up and about, no matter how hard I tried to get up early, I ended up sleeping late. But, I'm not going to let myself stress out about it. And, Trace and Jude, you'll see me live on the chat place, but I may not be there - just keeping the line open because of something else that's going on and I want to be available.

Now it's off to shower and then play with power tools while the house is mine and mine alone:)
