Sock(s) in progress

This is the cuff of the socks I'm currently making. I figured the best way to show it to you was on my foot, of course! The color isn't as bright in the picture as it is in real life - I blame the sun for that! LOL

So far, *this* time, making the sock is going much smoother, perhaps because I'm taking a class to actually learn how from someone who knows instead of just trying to figure it out from a book. I can hardly wait to finish them so I can see if it's true - people I know who knit their own socks say that they have trouble wearing 'store' socks once they have tried hand made ones! We'll see! I may have created my very own monster!

Love the color Kate! And they look so soft and toasty warm =)

Emmmmm,Kate, I do hope you're planning on putting a foot on the thing. I know they didn't used to until the late 19th- or early 20th century, but I think they'll be much warmer if you did. *grin*

Seriously, it's a nice color. I'll bet they ARE warm, too.

Those look toasty, and I love the colours Kate. Is it just the angle of the picture, or do you have short wee toes like me?

Good grief, I just realized I used the same description of the socks that Tracey did!! LOL

Great minds, ya know? *wink*

I think these socks are going to be very warm - I wonder if I'll be using them as slippers instead, truth told! I've got to do some work on them today since there is class tomorrow. I began having the same mistakes on these as I did the first one I did (the one without a mate at this time), and stopped by the shop when the class instructor was there and found out that there are *gasp* easier ways - seems the two folks who had been doing what they could to show me have been doing it incorrectly themselves! So, with new knowledge in mind, maybe this process will go far faster!

And, TW - I've been debating on whether I want to add a foot to the socks or not; Both Bree and Dolly have this habit of licking my toes, so instead of getting the socks all soggy, maybe I should just let my toes hang out ;)

No comments about why the critters lick my feet. FYI I *do* wash my feet - occasionally!;)
