Sitemeter showed that I received a "hit" that's hit a little too close to home, so to speak.
It's not that I have anything to hide - but of late I've suddenly begun seeing hits from my home state and from nearby towns which leads me to believe that my little blog has been found out by folks who work in or near the place I do.
That's not a problem, either, except that they never pop in to say 'hi' or let me know they've been reading. It makes me paranoid, truth told.
I've got a couple of jobs that I love, a salary that's giving me the ability to be as free as I can be right now, and I'd hate to lose all that. I was also told off the record when I began this job that it would be best if I kept my religion out of the workplace because it just makes other people uncomfortable. And, I gave my word on that, and I've kept it.
And, you know what? I wouldn't be surprised to get pulled into a supervisor's office and presented with my blog on a platter with a choice: "your job or your blog".
Even though I've been careful to change names of all people, places, and most things.
So, I'm just sayin' that if it would happen that this blog would disappear, there's a reason for it. As it is, I'm going to delete the recent post that had my picture in it; you can put that firmly under the paranoia pile.
But, on the other hand, if it so happens that whomever is reading my blog is from Parking and Transportation, you might as well know that I think your dealings with those who pay through the nose for parking just plain SUCKS. You folks (at least 90% of you) could use a whole lot of continuing education in customer service skills.
And, with that, I may just have to post a couple of P&T stories I've heard as I've been dealing with those folks.
And for those folks who read blogs and pass on by without commenting - if you keep coming back to see what's going on, give a shout out, okay? It would be nice to hear from the new folks who read this.

I fail to see what your religion has to do with your job. I also fail to see how your opinions on whatever you choose to post here should affect your job as well. You're not naming people directly and you're not giving out information that you shouldn't.
Just my two pennies.
Religion should have nothing to do with my job, but sadly, when it comes to Paganism, people automatically think that you belong to the devil. I recently went as far as to tell a trusted co-worker (one of the few) that I was not a member of a church, but could be considered a "tree hugger" and also followed a Native American belief system. Ever since, she's felt it her duty to preach to me about the word of the Lord. But, she's not "direct" about it - she just makes certain to bring her religious life into almost every conversation. And because many of the folks I work with are not understanding about "freedom of religion means ALL religions" I keep my mouth shut.
The powers that be where I work are manic about HIPAA and if someone saw my blog, figured out where I was located and complained, there'd be trouble. Others have had problems. So, there's a chance I'd have to make a decision on a livlihood or freedom of speech. Let's hope it doesn't come down to that! Of course, I'd probably take this one down and open another one...*grins*
I saw our comment over at my place, thought I would stop by and check you out...er...check your blog out. I dig the artwork.
Hi Kate,
I started my blog tis past January, and made the mistake o fmentioning it ONCE to my boss at the time. Luckily for me he is NOT a blog reader. He hasn't said anything since I first mentioned it (then is was just a snarky "oh, you write a blog?" with a decided sneer of 'why bother, that's for geeks or low lifes' to it....). As for my religion, I've nver mentioned out right that I'm pagan, but my pentacle came out of hiding by my 4th month here, and hasn't seemed to bring any censure - yet. But I couldn't care less at this point...I'm trying desperately to get out and into a new job. Anyhoo, sorry for the rambling....have a Blessed Day, and just try to ignore the bible-thumpers.
Blessed Be,
M.
Well you already know how I feel about freedom of faith so that part sucketh! However I understand what you're saying about HIPAA and all that.
As for your faith, little do they know that it's all GOOD stuff not 'devil worshipping'..... Yep, 'nuther blog would do the trick if need be anyway. ;)
Sorry to hear that you are having such problems. I think it's BS and hope everything works out for you. I love your blog and see nothing wrong with what you say or believe in.
I'm here and I love you.
Just for the record
Thanks everyone. I really don't "expect" any problems, but I just wanted to put the warning out there, just in case.
