I'm Baaacccckkkk....

Another successful year for LammasFest, even though two weeks ago I was worried beyond belief that turnout would be minimal because, in part, of high fuel prices. But, we had a nice crowd, met some great folks for the first time and had lots of returning friends.

I'll do my best to give you a run-down of the event over the course of the next several days - tomorrow is a day of rest/(yeah, right)/catch-up and Robert is scheduled for knee replacement surgery on his right knee early Tuesday morning. The next couple of weeks are going to be interesting, for I'll be working this week on a limited schedule, and then have all of next week off as Robert won't be able to be alone for several days till the docs and physical therapy are sure he's not going to fall and hurt himself getting around the house.

I'm guessing blog time will be limited for a week or two, not through choice, but because I'll be picking up R's responsibilities around the house - things like walking the doggies and mowing lawn for example. And, we pretty much divide most responsibilities around the house so I'll be carrying most of the load for awhile. But, I'll write when I get the chance!

A couple of notes about camping: when you go camping and make that decision to pile two air mattresses one on top of the other, make sure to grab matching sizes. A queen size on the bottom with a twin size on top does NOT work. The queen size takes offense at the minimal width of the twin with a body on top and decides to flip the body to the tent floor in the middle of the night.

Same-same with the "brilliant" idea of taking the small tent instead of one of the bigger ones. Small tents are great for early spring and late fall camping because they tend to hold in the body heat; August is a time you really want air to be circulating. Not only that, the bigger tents give people with out-of-shape bodies the ability to stand up to dress. Sitting on the floor trying to put on your pants when you have to pee in the middle of the night and then struggling to make the knees let you stand up is just not fun, although it certainly reinforces the idea of the importance of an exercise program!

And, one of the best things to happen at LammasFest this year was the chance to reconnect with my buddy, Devin. I haven't seen him for a year. It was good to spend time by the campfire talking till we were both so tired we could barely stay awake long enough to get to our tents. So...Devin...know I miss you already! And on those rare occasions when you pop in here, make sure and say hi, okay?

Another reader of this blog, Doug, didn't make it to the festival this year. Doug, you were missed, too, and people were asking about you. Hope you can make it next year!

Trace, I got your message and thank you! I couldn't answer because my cell phone battery was almost gone and I had to keep what I had in case of emergency at the event. Thankfully, there were no problems.

Anyway, I'm tired. I've had more fresh air in the last four days than I've had in the last three months. I'm going to bed. I'll talk to you when I get a chance!

So glad you made it home safe and sound, and that you had a great time.
I'll say a prayer for Robert that he heals fast. I'll say one for you as well. It's hard taking care of a husband and his duties.
Thinking of you.

Glad you're back and things went well. Looking forward to hearing more about it!

Will keep you and Robert in my thoughts and prayers. Let us know how he's doing as soon as you can.

Now I *really* wish I lived closer so I could help! (Think R would put it off for a few months? LOL)

I'm glad LammasFest went well and you enjoyed yourself (even with the evil air mattress-tent alliance against you ;P ) and i'll keep my fingers crossed that the next couple of weeks go by fairly quiet and quick.

*hugs*
