Just a few updates from the Nursery -
Warrior Baby is still residing in an Isolette, but the good news is, she's gained more weight! Last Friday she weighed in at 1250 grams, or about 2.75 pounds! Yay!!!!
Twins A and B are both doing well. I haven't been in to see them lately, but I haven't heard anything out of the ordinary concerning them, and it doesn't seem as though they've been getting blood drawn every day like they used to. That's a step in the right direction, for sure!
Hoss was true to form today and uttered nary a peep when I stuck him. But, then, Mom wasn't there, either! Silly boy!
Babies are being moved this evening to our new facility, Bay 5. Yep, we've added 15 new beds; the hope for this new unit is that this will be the final unit the babies will be in before they go home. The rooms are bright and airy, plasma tv's for the parents, a good stereo system as well as all the usual state of the art medical equipment the little ones need. We're only going to have "staffed" a.m. labs on Bay 5; and for now, only a CLS will go there to draw and run samples. The rest of the day, we-the-vampires will do the draws. I'll have to get the pedometer out. More walking is in my future as that unit is two pavilions over from where I work!
But, as beautiful as the rooms are, guess where they put the lab equipment? Yep, in such an ideal location: it's in the soiled utility room. What I want to know is...WHAT ARE THEY THINKING WHEN THEY PLAN THESE THINGS?
And, last but not least, Little Mary Sunshine went home to visit her parents this past weekend. They bought her a car. This confirmed my suspicions. LMS was definitely a coddled child. I found out that this is the very first job she's ever had, so she's never learned to play nice with people...and she gets to go right to the top of the heap for her very first car. They bought her a 2007 Lexus. Her other choices were a Toyota Camry or a BMW.
What was *your* first car?
Mine was a red, 1965 Chevy Impala with three on the tree. It cost me $900.00 Had a 350 V-8 (if I remember correctly!) and my loan payment was $32.00 a month. Wish I could do that now!
Posts will probably be few and far between this week. I'm getting ready for LammasFest this weekend, so there are a lot of little details to finish up with. If you're interested in this insanity that drives me, you can check out the website at www.lammasfest.us And, I'll tell you about it all when it's over! I will be trying to check in here, though, in between tearing my hair out!

My first car was an old "K" car. Remember those? It had three colors of red, primer and rust on it and came complete with an am radio. It cost me $500 and used half a quart of oil to get me one way to school (aproximately 7 miles or so away!)
Good news from the nursery! I enjoy reading your WB updates =)
Good luck with last minute stuff for the LammasFest. Wish I could be there to help out!
Glad to hear the good news about the babies.
Have lots of fun and try to keep us posted.
