Quoting from the book:
Whether you have been aware of your thoughts in the past or not, now you are becoming aware. Right now, with the knowlege of The Secret you are waking up from a deep sleep and becoming *aware*. Aware of the knowledge, aware of the law, aware of the power you have through your thoughts.
This particular passage struck me in a little different way than the author(s) may have intended.
What if there's a secondary meaning in that passage? What if the Aquarian age is far closer than the predicted 2062? What if this truly is the 'dawning' of the age of Aquarius? What if the sudden rise in spirituality (I said spirituality, not religion, mind you)is an indicator that people are looking for a higher power? And a higher power could mean the reveal of a quantum physics law that minds have been closed to for decades?
Another passage in the book compares the human thoughts with being one of the most powerful transmitters in the world. We've all heard analogies that the brain is the most complex "computer" in the world, and I think that's probably the simplest way to comprehend the complexities of the brain - and how very little we know about it.
For those of us who are old enough to remember, life in the days before massive media and constant communication was far more simple. People had *time*, whether it was utilized well, or not. They had more time to be alone with their thoughts, so to speak. Perhaps they weren't rich or tremendously successful, but people weren't plugged into constant communcation with all the computers, cell phones, iPods, 24 hour television and easily available movies. Sometimes there was just plain quiet.
Think of the stress everyone is under today. How much of that is from some from of media, constantly feeding that brain transmitter we all have? What if all the bad news, the negativity, the overabundance of the seven deadly sins shoved in our faces is contributing to what the Law of Attraction is feeding to us? After all, if what we think is ultimately what is attracted to us, shouldn't we be taking steps to close out much of the outside influences that surround us? Shut off the television, let voice mail take messages instead of feeling like every single call must be taken, regardless of what you're doing?
Are we creating our own demise just from constant bombardment of thoughts which are being pushed upon us by outside sources?
Hmmmmmmm....

I think the constant bombardment does create alot of unecessary stress. But I think that people have moved so far away from intellectual pursuits that they NEED it to keep from going brain dead. They seem to have to have the constant stimulation, almost like a drug addiction.
I find that if I leave the tv, radio, etc... going all day I am completely stressed and wore out by the end of the evening. By leaving the tv and radio off and limiting my exposure to the chaos outside i'm able to spend my time more effectively around the home and not be frazzled by the end of the day.
I purposely seek out quiet and peace, just to think or meditate. Or even just to enjoy the company of my own thoughts.
Good thing I don't find myself too boring huh? LOL
