The bad news? (well, for her, anyway) Snippet was NOT in labor - the person who talked to her on the phone thought it would be fun to rattle our cages and tell us she was...typical behavior from that one, we're finding out.
So, I missed out on some sleep; no longer do I have to worry about getting the afghan finished on time. I just need to get the finishing touches done.
It took me about 23 hours total knitting time, and contains just a little over 15,000 stitches, for those of you who like knowing that kind of detail.

The color on the above picture is probably the closest to what it actually looks like. I thought showing the hearts looked better in the sunlight, so I sacrificed a bit of the color. The dimensions of this are about 36" x 48" - big enough for a nursing mom to cuddle with baby in the middle of the night and still have some blanket for herself. And, I like this size because it's big enough to cover a toddler when they are ready for a 'big bed'.

Wow, nice job Kate! It's pretty!
Now......... where are the pics of Kate's new "do"??????
*ahem*
Thanks, Jude!
As far as the picture of my new 'do', if I could just find some time to get together with TW, I'd have him take a pic or two. He's the only person who can take a good pic of me. I just got my computer running comfortably...I don't want it to crash because I downloaded something only good enough for target practice! LOL
Oh what a beautiful blanket Kate! Well done! :)
Phooey on the person at work who fibbed! Bleh :P
Thanks, Trace! *still singing Robin's damn Barney song*

OMG, I didn't expect that. Can you believe you almost made me choke on artichokes? lmao
Sorry. If it makes you feel better, now it's stuck in my head again, too.
Love the afghan! Beautiful and cozy-looking. What nifty skills you have. :~)
Thanks, Robin! I look at knitting as one of those few ways I can resist temptation to put food in my mouth.
Just imagine, an invisible triangle with points in Iowa, Indiana, and Alabama. All the people in the area suddenly are compelled to touch their heads, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes...
A twenty-five mile perimeter is hastily erected around this triangle by the remaining US National Guard, while investigators frantically try to determine the source of the outbreak of Barney insanity.
Isolated reports from other parts of the country have indicated that if exposure to Barney insanity is not checked, victims of the disease will begin swaying, singing, "I love you...you love me...."
LOL! Too bad we couldn't get a triangle like that going in the Middle East.
victims of the disease will begin swaying, singing, "I love you...you love me...."
NO! NONONONONOOOOO!!! Anything but that! I'll talk, I'll talk! I'll tell you anything you want to know just don't play that song!!!! ARGH!!!
