So.
It's not all that long until September 22, which will be the "traditional" wedding day for my son Kirk and his Love, Marsha.
Time to get the list together for the wedding invitations and get it finalized.
I've been working on it off and on for the last month, tracking down addresses of all the young and mobile friends and cousins. Today I should have been able to finish it up, and send it off to Marsha.
It was all nice, neat and pretty on a spreadsheet.
But, the spreadsheet was not where I left it. I know this because I've gone to that same location two or three times as updates came in. I've saved it, told the computer that I *know* this document already exists, and to save it and replace the old one.
It's just.....gone.
So, I've spent the last several hours recreating the list on a plain old word processing document on my laptop. I've even printed hard copies. If need be, I'll even hand carry it to Marsha at her office tomorrow.
I hate computers. Again.

Oh my.
In the future - a safety measure is to save alternating copies...
"Contact-List" and "Contact-List-2" for instance...That way, if one gets eaten in a Microsloth error (which is typical), you have the prior copy...
I know, I know, closing the barn door after the horses have escaped the spilt milk and all, but it'll help in the future.
Have you done a search to find it? Just in case?

Oh ugh! I hate when that kind of thing happens Kate! I'm glad you were able to duplicate the list and get it out, but still... very frustrating!
Oh damn that sucks, I've been in similar frusrating situations like it. :-(
