This is my week to work in Critical Care Lab; when the 6 a.m. person comes in, I go back to the a.m. team and help with morning rounds on the adult floors. Keeps me from forgetting how to draw the grown ups!
Today I was on the cardiac floor. It's my favorite of all the places the team travels to. The staff was tickled to see me again. They were afraid that I was gone forever when the NICU transfer happened. I hope when the new section opens up, we'll still be able to occasionally help the team. I think the folks that were hired specifically for NICU should also be trained to take their turns on a.m. phlebotomy. There's so much of the day when we have 'down' time, especially during those hours when the team could use the extra help.
But, I guess maybe it's just because I like to keep busy, and sitting around getting paid for doing nothing just appalls me - in a part of my taxpayer's brain - there is, however, another part that can easily get used to it!

I hate not having anything to do. I feel like when i'm being paid to work, I should be working not sitting around.
It also seems to make the day drag if theres nothing going on.
